Particularly popular in the period prior to the First World War, Abington Park welcomed crowds of people on a Sunday afternoon dressed in their best enjoying the music and beautiful surroundings.

The concerts, now revived in recent years as 'Bands in the Park' continue to entertain visitors to the park each year from April to September, every Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Hosting a mix of traditional brass bands, choirs, singers and modern bands from Northampton and surrounding areas, the event is a much-loved weekend entertainment ritual for all to enjoy.
