Why join us? Annual membership of £20 gives access tolearning opportunities, new activities and past times with people from all walks of life and shared experiences, having fun and making new friends.
We have a monthly meeting at Northampton County Cricket Club off Wantage Road with interesting guest speakers and an opportunity to have a FREE cup of tea/coffee and hear the latest news of activities and events. You have a chance to sign up to outings to places of interest, theatre trips and our upcoming social events.
Throughout the year we have friendly social events and get-togethers with live band, dancing and afternoon teas at Christmas and in spring. Regular theatre trips in Northamptonare organised and coach trips have started again with the next in November to Stratford upon Avon.
We have groups that meet for Sunday lunch, day trips toexplore London, Knit and Natter, discuss History and Literature, investigate family history, play cribbage, play the Ukulele or jazz or Sing for Fun. Outdoor activities include Ramblers, Stroller and Strider walking groups as well as Birdwatching and Nature. Friendly golf and table tennis sessions welcome all abilities. A new Climate Change and Environment group plans to further understanding about our weather, climate change and measure changes in our own gardens.
u3a is organised by the members for the members and new interest groups such as croquet are set up if there is sufficient interest and we have a volunteer to act as group leader.
Enthusiasm is all you need to join us. We offer no qualifications, and our aim is finding enjoyment and friendship by participating in whichever groups you choose to attend.
