Oak Apple Day

An ancient ceremony of thanksgiving will take place at All Saints' Church on Monday, 29 May to commemorate Northampton's Oak Apple Day.
The ceremony will begin at 11:30am with a thanks giving service led by Father Oliver Coss at All Saints' Church. Shortly after midday, The Company of Pikemen and Musketeers, who are a ceremonial unit of the Honourable Artillery Company dressed in 17th century uniform, will parade from the Judges' Lodgings on St Giles' Square, down George Row and onto All Saints' Church piazza proceeded by A Company LNR, Army Cadet Force, Corps of Drums overseen by Lt Col Robert Blomfield of The Royal Anglian Regiment.
The Mayor will then place a wreath of oak leaves on the statue of Charles II, which stands on the church's portico followed by a drum and musket fire ceremonial performance which will be observed by His Majesty's Lord-Lieutenant of Northamptonshire, Mr James Saunders Watson and the High Sheriff of Northamptonshire, Milan Shah.

An exhibition by Ukrainian artists
Saturday 3rd - Sunday 18th June
Friday 24th February 2023 marked the one year anniversary since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Ukrainian artists have curated an exhibition of paintings which portrays the stories and experiences of a war-torn country.
The debut display of the exhibition will be held at Northampton Museum & Art Gallery this Summer, in partnership with Northampton Town Council. Further details coming soon.

Northampton Carnival

It's Carnival time!
On Saturday 10th June, The Northampton Carnival returns to The Racecourse from 12.00 until 7.30pm.
The theme for 2023 is 'Celebrating the people who came' – chosen to give hope and the opportunity for everyone to come together and celebrate! Featuring a variety of stalls, exciting fun fair and live stage entertainment and of course the ever-popular Carnival parade through the town.

Windrush 75

The Windrush flag will be raised outside The Guildhall at 11.55am Thursday, 22nd June to mark the 75th anniversary of the arrival of the Empire Windrush ship.
The Northampton Windrush@75 Working Group, which includes Northampton Windrush Generation and Descendants UK and Friends, the Northamptonshire Black History Association, Northampton Town Council and West Northamptonshire Council are hosting a series of events across Northampton.

Armed Forces Day

Armed Forces Day will be marked in Northampton with a military parade and entertainment taking place in the town centre on Saturday, 24th June: 10am - 2pm
The parade will begin at 10am at the top of Abington Street, by BBC Radio Northampton, marching down to Wood Hill, onto St Giles' Street and Fish St, finishing on Abington Street at approximately 10.25am.
From 10.40am there will be live stage entertainment, kindly sponsored by Travis Perkins, on the All Saints' Church Piazza from rockabilly band 'Ignition' and vintage vocals trio 'The Swingettes' alongside military display vehicles and a variety of stalls from charities and local organisations including the Royal British Legion and Help For Heroes.
